Small business and Marketing tips newsletter 18th July 2018.
Tip of the week…
Try having links to your website from social posts.
A post is great for showing your networks all about your brand. When posting try having a link from your posts to your website with more information. This will help your search engine profile (SEO) and ranking by doing the following:
- People may go to your website from the link.
- Search engines such as Google will notice this and rank you higher in their algorithms.
- Once someone is on your website you can have a one on one engagement with them. As opposed to the social platform that has other people and companies vying for attention
A Social Media post can work in many ways other than just profile building.
Did you know that Google is now insisting that all websites are HTTPS?
It’s true. If you want to be found on google they are insisting that you have a secure site. That means purchasing an SSL Certificate and changing your HTTP to HTTPS.
SSL Certificates are small data files that digitally bind a cryptographic key to an organization’s details. When installed on a web server it activates the padlock and the https protocol and allows secure connections from a web server to a browser. In real terms it makes your site more secure.
If you haven’t done this yet talk to your web developer or hosting provider.
